2022 best mobile phones

It's hard to believe it is almost a year since the release of Xiaomi's latest phone range, but it already feels like a whole year since we last saw this great handset. The Chinese company has been on top for years now with its amazing phones that are extremely popular around the globe. There was nothing to be proud about in 2020 when compared to a few months ago. That said, now seems like an appropriate time to refresh our list of all the best smartphones from that same year. These reviews and information are compiled after thorough research and testing. I won't be posting any further updates about what I've managed to find at this stage of my research until all of my findings have been published. So here are my recommendations!

Asus' ROG line of smartphones continues to dominate the market with its excellent build quality. Not only are they the gold standard for performance, but well-designed as well. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra - £1,049.99

The 2021 version of the flagship device of Samsung, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is designed to provide maximum fun while traveling and taking your daily dose of photos or video calls. With just under 6.3 inches and a large 7.6-inch AMOLED display, this one is a beautiful phone to own. A long battery life with up to 48 hours on call and 12 hours of screen time means everything feels good, even when using GPS. But despite having such a fantastic overall design, there are certain flaws that you'll notice. First, the camera is slightly shaky compared to other models. Secondly, the side button sticks out as if it's stuck out of a piece of paper when held by someone. Lastly, it tends to lag behind every other model too. Even though they seem much bigger than most other devices on the market, it isn't often that others don't measure up to the size of this beast. Just $399.99 (£249) makes them the perfect deal if you're looking to upgrade your existing Samsung smartphone or one in this series for your next big event. Maybe don't go all the way to the max!

The OnePlus 8T - £1,039.99

If you're planning to purchase a new Android phone for 2022 then look no further than the OnePlus 8T (also known as the OnePlus Nord). This little device from China boasts a 4,500 mAh battery and a fast Snapdragon 778G. They'll also feature a gorgeous OLED screen that will ensure your viewing experience is not interrupted. What more could you ask for? Well on the outside and inside there's not anything that would disappoint. They've got a lot going for them! Some outstanding features include an octa-core Qualcomm 8th Generation chipset, a 6.55 inches AMOLED display, 64 GB storage, and a headphone jack. On offer are two colors: white and purple. In terms of tech specs, this one has a triple-back camera array to choose from, a 13-megapixel main shooter, and one of the highest resolutions in this class. The Motorola Moto G Power - £349.99

The Motorola Moto G is an affordable phone, that can carry you around for days without feeling like you've had a care in the world. To be fair, Apple sells some very expensive phones, but they don't get better. And then there's the fact that this handset ships with 5G technology, so it works pretty soon in real life too. Add to that something like a super-fast chip and phenomenal battery life and you have access to the greatest smartphones in the world. Despite being a bit hefty, the iPhone 11 features an incredible screen, so you can enjoy scrolling through everything. As for hardware, you get an edge-to-edge 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel, an ultra-slim design, along with stereo speakers. We can't fault the high-end specifications that are on offer either, especially considering how much space you get on a small device that holds so many functions. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is currently selling at its lowest price of £1,049.00, but it is still the ultimate gadget for those who want superior specifications. Especially when dealing with the huge amount of data being processed by the app. This handset runs iOS 14 and Mac OS X based on the ARM architecture. This means that this iPhone model can run a game and stay updated with the latest software. If you're searching for a powerful phone that does loads of stuff, then you'll love that the iPhone 11 is still there for you.

The Redmi 10X Prime 2nd Gen - £399.99

This is the second generation of the Redmi 10X. After losing one of its original parts, the company has redesigned the phone, making it lighter and stronger. Along with this, it has taken away all the unnecessary features leaving you to focus on what matters the most. Apart from the battery and main battery, this one also has some other key components, such this being made up of 6 GB RAM, a 48 MP main camera, and a 2,000 mAh battery. For example, this one also has NFC technology, which makes it compatible with a variety of phones. Although it might not have the bells and whistles of newer models, this one does have several advantages. Its fingerprint sensor is impressive so you can take part in your games without worrying about anyone seeing it. From the exterior, you can expect a shiny frame that makes it unique. However, this phone has a plastic body making the front side fairly scratchy, with no glass protection, but the back is made of polycarbonate material.

The iPhone 12 Pro - £799.00

It's been a rough couple of weeks, but the iPhone 12 Pro is a fantastic value pick. Having a solid 1TB of RAM for 4 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage, you'll never need to worry about running out of space again. Of course, you'd get a stunning 1080p display on the back of this new handset, which the majority of people probably can't live without. Another highlight of the iPhone 12 is the MagSafe for charging, but the larger 4,000 mAh battery will make sure you charge faster in moments. An optical zoom lens and two 12MP telephoto lenses are also included in the package, for shooting nightscapes and landscapes.
